Ttyymmnn, the engine on the Puffin boat in New Foundland was a two-cylinder Lister.

Hrm. Sounds/looks like a single thumper to me. The old Rice Mill in Hanalei has a single cylinder large bore diesel they used to run the power shafts overhead. Freaking awesome.
Friend of mine got a 3 hp diesel out of India - thing was 100's of lbs large, didn’t run very fast, but could run on diesel, biodiesel, coconut oil or any oil, and do it until the heat death of the universe. Last I saw him he was winding his own custom generator coil to match the performance of the engine and figured it was a good (prepper) investment.
